This will be an intimate group of 12 people on a deep journey within themselves with the option of one, two or three sittings of Kambo.
Whether you're looking for a deep detox, ready to move through an emotional block or propel yourself into some beautiful manifestations we welcome you with an open heart.
What is Kambo?
Kambo is taken from the Giant Monkey Tree Frog in the upper Amazon and has been used for thousands of years by the tribes there to aid in the treatment of infections, snake bites, fevers, pain relief, improved fertility and to generally cleanse, detox and strengthen the mind and body.
In recent years, Kambo has made its way into western culture and is used in many additional areas such as the treatment of addictions, anxiety, and depression, as well as a plethora of other medical conditions. Ongoing scientific studies could see Kambo used in more mainstream settings.
Spiritually speaking Kambo works in a very mystical fashion and is described as 'a light that opens the way’, aiding us all to overcome life’s challenges and releasing blockages on an emotional level. It clears our auric field and realigns our chakras allowing us to break habitual patterns and live and think more authentically.
What to expect with Kambo?
Kambo is administered by superficially burning the top layer of skin which exposes the epidermis, usually done with a non-fragrance incense stick. This allows the medicine to travel around the body through the lymphatic system. The pain is akin to having a finger pricked for a blood test and presents much like a small blister, as the skin peels away there is no blood.
Traditionally they are placed on the upper left arm for males and bottom right leg for females, although most areas can be considered, especially when focusing on chakra or meridian treatments. These marks will heal and fade in time (depending on your skin colour and age). It is likely you will always have small visible scars. Most people however see their marks as a badge of honour, akin to a tattoo that commemorates a certain aspect or time in their life.
As the gates are opened you will proceed to drink between 1.5 and 2 litres of water which will provide the base of your purge. This is followed by the application of your points (Kambo).
The effects of the secretion are usually felt within a minute or two and soon after that your blood pressure will drop causing nausea. Purging begins and usually lasts around 20-40 minutes, which can take several forms including yawning, vomiting, diarrhoea, sounding, sweating, and crying.
Kambo works with your intention and targets the areas requiring the most attention, we often experience it scanning the body and can feel throbbing and sometimes burning in those areas. The discomfort we feel is often the accumulation of toxins both physical and emotional trying to exit the body.
Kambo can be intense, but the experience is short and fast. Immediately following a ceremony most people report feeling an increase in energy and vitality.
About your facilitators
Ed Dawson has been working with Kambo on a personal level for a number of years and has been facilitating and serving Kambo since early 2019. His aim is to deliver deep and transformative experiences with sustainably sourced Kambo from the heart of the Amazon, in a safe, relaxed, and professional manner. To take you from where you are and assist you in moving forward: mentally, physically, and spiritually.
It is his intention to continue to carry this medicine with deep humility and respect. To act as a conduit between the frog and those ready to, and those already embarking on their Kambo journey. It is now a privilege to hold each soul with grace, authenticity and an open heart, guiding you through each unique experience; and to honour you for the courage and commitment it takes to immerse yourself in this work.
